Live at Satisfaction in North Carolina

I just arrived at Satisfaction restaurant in North Carolina for Governor Dean's State of the Union Watch Party. Much to my, ummm, satisfaction, there is wireless Internet here -- talk about truth in advertising. The place is already starting to fill up, although its tough to tell who is here for the event (2 and a half hours early) and who is here for dinner. So far I have overheard small groups asking about what time the Governor is due to arrive. I will talk to them in a bit... Until then, here are a few photos from the venue to tide you over.

Thanks, Tim, for keeping us in the loop! I wonder how Dr. Dean feels about the Senators in his party today. In any case, NC is a beautiful state and hopefully, he can inspire a small group of believers, which will enlarge - person by person - and eventually turn the state blue!!

I don't suppose the good Dr is ever coming to upstate NY????

42 Democrats voted against Alito, a sufficient number to sustain a filibuster or to force the Republicans to follow through on their threat to blow up the cloture rule (even if Chaffee had flipped his vote on a cloture vote).

So there it is - evidence of EXACTLY what is wrong with this party. No will, no courage, no principles. Plenty of posturing ("Hey - I voted against Alito, right?" and "Hey - I actually CALLED for a filibuster - remember, Hillary?"), but not enough gonad among the lot of them to make a fight on principle - even at the cost of...HORRORS!!!!...losing.

You think I'm "cynical," boys and girls? There's nothing more cynical than a cowardly, capitulating elected Democrat. All nuance, no guts. No principle worth fighting for except the principle of triangulating themselves into reelection.

What a pathetic bunch. All they have to offer is that they are the "alternative" to Republicans, but when it comes time to put up and prove that they really do offer an alternative, they hide under tables.

Fuck the Democratic Party. Every time these useless, spineless turds do something like this, another three hundred thousand voters - the poor, the unemployed, the defenseless - shrug their shoulders and say "What the fuck - if they're not going to do anything for me then I might as well vote for Republicans - crumbs are better than nothing."

Howard - quit your day job and go third party. This truly is the end of the Road to Nowhere.

Baron, There has been so many magical moments for Democrats at this moment in time. It is hard to take someone like you. Instead of giving postive suggestions you prefere to criticise to the detriment of our happy moments. Why don't you read the magic of believing, or the power of postive thinking? You are not only not helping our party you are boxing it in to where it can't even enjoy it's work to help our Democrats. Could you please wait until after we win the majority to write anymore of your negitive thoughts. Can you name one negitive statement to a winner that helped him win?
