now that's what i'm talkin about!!!
Hey funny thing ezworld, I have been talking about that too!
Tim, that is a good video...where is this going to be shown?
May I link it?
Posted by PeppermintLizzy on January 5, 2006 at 05:54 PM
Hey Tim,
You should have sent out an email and/or set up an icon for contributions for this ad to be seen all around the US !
My freedom of privacy and liberty is worth a few bucks to me!
Alito will be in quite a squeeze, when asked if he thinks these are legal. If he says NO, bush looks bad, if he says yes, then he marks himself as another one who thinks the sky is the limit with this administration!
I am personally sick to death of this administration using 9/11 and terrorists, to set this country back 200 years!!!!!!
Posted by PamB on January 5, 2006 at 06:18 PM
You may link it, of course... And yes, it will go out in an email tomorrow I believe--I wanted you all to see it first though.

thank you, tim. this makes me smile.

Well done! The quality is very good--much better than that lame RNC video ad (although I could still see 'start video' while the video ran).

Good stuff ... Spy Boy Bush, busy shredding the constitution. He couldn't care less about civil liberties. Spy Boy definitely does NOT have the authority to do this.

Good show. Needs more publicity.

Please, please, PLEASE continue making these GREAT videos, and publish them as widely as possible. Americans need to see this on their TV screens on a daily basis!

Cambio means change in spanish.
We Americans demand chage!...
This administration is taking the Country into a chaos. The foreing Policy is a disaster!...internally, health, education and the economy are heading into a major social disaster...we need change, we demand change...cambio! now!
Bush is abussive and plain stupid...it is mandatory that we actively work to impeach him and get him out of office before is too late.
Posted by cambio on January 6, 2006 at 01:20 PM
It shouldn't be too difficult to assemble enough video clips of these types of contradictory statements to make a short feature for mid-term campaign use. Just show the statements of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, McClellan, and other key players in chronological order. Condense the entire 2004 campaign into 22 minutes (a half hour TV show) to show the vicious techniques used (swiftboat etc.) to defeat Kerry. We to wake up the sleeping congregation, not preach to the choir.
Posted by BigBopper on January 6, 2006 at 01:21 PM
Great video--short, stinging. The next one should show a Republican Congress impeaching the man or the Senate demanding they do so. If they don't, actors will volunteer to film it.
Posted by seawine on January 6, 2006 at 01:47 PM
I a time of national defense, I would hope that those in power would use the power of that office to protect and defend our way of life. It seems to me that regardless of Democrat or republican that we have the need to know before we suffer ANOTHER DAY,THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY!
WE NEED TO DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES! to NOT let it happen again...regardless of party affilation.

BigBopper, you are right - one could make an INCREDIBLE video of the Right's nastiness. The huge issue is - how do you get it shown to the millions who don't browse the Web? I was recently out West in ranching country. Their only concern about Iraq is that we are starting to lose too many of our kids (so many from their states). News comes from Fox. Judge Alito is low on the radar screen - in fact, probably never heard of half the issues that the East and West Coasts are concerned with. Getting the video on network TV - even on PBS with its rightward shift - hmm. Maybe get Michael Moore to direct it? he at least did get a big reaction, even from those who were infuriated - perhaps many of them would now have second thoughts?
Hey, regarding the snooping/Bush/Nixon video - great - Who was it delivered that final crushing assessment of Nixon "a goddamn shifty-eyed liar"? Well, Bush isn't shifty-eyed, but. . .
Posted by Johnbo on January 6, 2006 at 01:50 PM
Too bad that Cheney is VP - if W were impeached, he'd become President. Come to think of it, Hastert is third in line - :-(((

I can't believe the Democrats would be foolish enough to run this video.

I think He[Bush] LIED to us again. His lies are far worse then Clintons lies. Bush`s lies are killing our people and taking away thier rights is another way of killing the American way of life and liberty. At least Clinton just lied about sex and as far as I know he didnt cost any lives or try to take away any of our constitional rights. i am ashamed of the president of the great united states i feel the american people have been betrayed by him any senator or representive of congress that has gone along with this kind of actions should lose the seats in the comming election this country will be ruined in the rest of his term if congress does not stop it we have three equal powers of our country so they shold all stand up and be couted to this corrupt admistration that we have today
Posted by egrhodes on January 6, 2006 at 02:38 PM
Arnie,
I agree. "WE NEED TO DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES! to NOT let it happen again...regardless of party affilation". It is an American issue! In the interest of national security and preservation of the fundamental foundations of this great democracy, we need to get rid of W, Dick and Rummy; and in a hurry. We just cannot afford to wait till '08.
Maggie, "I can't believe the Democrats would be foolish enough to run this video." I pray ask, why? Is it because they will lose the radical right wing vote and upset them?
W, Dick and Rummy are making Dick "I am not a crook" Nixon look like a saint! If you thought Watergate was bad wait till Americans are revealed the bottom of the Abramoff scandal, the DeLay scandal, the Frist scandal, the CIA leak case scandal, the misuse of NSA scandal and everything else that is starting to be unearthed.
Is NBC on the vegre of breaking news on how NSA spied on Amanpour and other CNN reporters? Do they have a scoop there?
Posted by SamSarma on January 6, 2006 at 02:40 PM
harro,
It is good Cheney is VP. After W, Congress can go after Dick "I am not a crook" Cheney.
I wonder why Hastert is in such a haste to publicly disassociate himself from first Abromoff and now DeLay. Does he have something to hide about his relationship to Abramoff.
Hastert is thrid in line now. One has to see what happens after '06! If the Democratic leadership cannot capitalize on this corrupt and incompetent administration to get a majority in both the houses, then what will. Democrats have to move very quickly to clean up the voting process including the computerized voting machines to ensure the next election is not stolen!
Posted by SamSarma on January 6, 2006 at 02:51 PM
President Bush, cares nothing about privacy rights of anyone, except of course himself. He is NOT above the law. He has become a dictator, who constantly smirks, doesn,t look people in the eye,is not trustworthy, and why 58Million Americans voted for him,is beyond belief.
Posted by JudyBenGriff on January 6, 2006 at 03:15 PM
Great video. I do wish that someone would consider doing less text and more "talking", hearing regular folks SAY what the text says. Somehow the words seem like...just data, not a living breathing voice making a point.
The ad is intellegent, concise, well paced, effective. But the Democratic party lacks verve, blood, passion, voices. We've got plenty of words. Let's see poeple, not angry or hand wringing, just regular folks who say "What is he saying, that's the constitution he's tramping all over?!'
Posted by patricktango on January 6, 2006 at 03:18 PM
President Bush, has no regard for anyone,or their rights. That is,except his own. He lies to the American People everytime he opens his mouth, with that smug smirk on his face. He has become a DICTATOR,not a PRESIDENT. He cares nothing about stepping on anyones rights, and thinks he is above the law. He alone, has made Americans hated and not trusted, all over the world, along with his crony Chaney.

Nixon was forced to resign instead of impeachment with a Democratic Congress because of his scandals of breaking the law. Bush is running his office the same way because he is daring us to do the same to him in this day and age with a Republican Congress.
It is time for our Congress to forget what party each person represents and follow the constitional laws of our country. They must stop bickering over the little distractions they use to divert our attention and get down to the part about new planning to end Iraq's suffering, stop torturing anyone, balance the budget with rollback of that last tax break in the upper tax brackets, reinstate decent educational funding to the States for student aid, strengthen the division/wall between religion and government, and so forth.
Posted by Soulwatcher on January 6, 2006 at 03:33 PM
Good video. Bush does not give a damn about our civil liberties. There certainly is a "culture of corruption" in Washington and Abramoff, NSA spying, Iraq, loss of rights, bankruptcy made harder, etc. The list goes on and on. How much more anti-American can you get? This bastard should be impeached, but, unfortunately, Repugs are everywhere, especially in both houses of Congress. When will the public wake up?
Posted by lickspittle on January 6, 2006 at 03:36 PM
Adding another few seconds with Bush's sophomoric "That's the neat thing about being President." and some Republican (preferably a sanctimonious Newt or fuming DeLay) asserting that even a President (Clinton) is not above the law would reduce the chance that some hardheads might excuse the Constitutional exceptions claimed by these two "conservative" Presidents.
Adding their cynical praise of judges for "strict constitutional construction" (which is an oxymoron against the Preamble and Bill of Rights) would also help remind viewers why Alito must be rejected.

Boy, I hate to say 'I told you so' to all of my friends and associates who voted for Mr. Bush in the last election. But I feel the need to do so...I'm not sure why half the people in America didn't see this coming. All one had to do was look at his first four years of blatant lies and double talk. I said he was dangerous the first year he was in office, and I was right. And I'm not a rocket scientist either. But this guy is the worse President in the history of the US. It almost feels sometimes like he is trying to destroy America. If not, he's doing a good job anyhow. But the wiretapping is just the tip of the iceberg, along with the bullshit 'weapons of mass destruction' crap. And these things are what we know about, I can only imagine the stuff that we don't know of yet.
God help us all, and yes, I'm for impeachment. It's time we took back our country and not leave our children this kind of legacy. We won't likely get out of this trillion dollar plus deficit in our lifetime, and for Clinton naysayers, do I need to remind you, we went from having the greatest surplus in the history of the US (3 trillion dollars) under Clinton to the greatest deficit under George Bush in just a couple of years. We also went from being well liked around the world under Clinton to being hated by eveyrone, including our allies under Bush.
To quote a once famaous movie "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore."
Great job Tim, on the video. Keep up the American spirit!

I am so sick of all the lies coming from the Bush administration. It is so obvious that President Bush lies about a lot of things of great importance. I can't wait until we get a Democratic President in office to straighten out all the mess...............it happens every time there's a Republican president, it takes two terms of a Democratic President to straighten things out and then they come in and mess it up again.......it is disgusting.............
Posted by Disgusted on January 6, 2006 at 04:41 PM
I am glad to see the Democratic Party responding this way. Keep running the video and others like it! Bush is not above the law and the House ought to consider whether he should be impeached.
Posted by CliftonS on January 6, 2006 at 04:44 PM
The problem is bigger than Bush, Republicans or Congress. Read the last chapter of The Future of Media (by McChesney, Newman, Scott, Seven Stories Press) to learn what Big Business, i.e., GE, AT&T, etc., through the WTO, have planned for us and the rest of the world, that will make our fragile democracy totally irrelevant. Ever wonder why liberals and Democrats get such short shrift on the cable news networks? Because these networks are owned by these giants, who have operatives filter out or demonize everything liberal (just watch what they will do to this video, or any other legitimate protest Americans might have). They have to pretend they care about democracy, of course, but it's just a pose (they call it a "liberal" media to throw us off). We need another revolution, not so much from "King" George this time as from these mega-conglomerates, because they will attempt to "buy" Democrats, should they happen come into power, just as they have bought Republicans and George W., in their quest for world dominance. George W. is just their current patsy--and he's been a damned good one for them by pretending he's above the law! We must do what we can to make sure he--and they--can't get away with it.

Great video, deserves wide distribution. But, we need to get our priorities straight. Even if Bush got impeached, his handlers would still control the office. And, as long as Republican corporations Diebold, ES&S,and Sequoia control the vote counting machines, the vast majority of which do not have ANY paper trail, or any other way to verify how a voter actually voted, the Republicans will steal the next election as they have the 2000 and 2004 elections, regardless of how the people vote. Until the Democratic Party recognizes and acts upon this simple truth they will remain the party out of power. And we all are screwed. Please read Mark Crispin Miller's book: "Fooled Again"

As Samuel Johnson observed over 200 years ago, “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.” If we live in a democratic country it is our RIGHT to feel free and not apprehensive to express our ideas: verbally, in print, or through e-mail.
The thought of having an agency with judicial power that could invade every aspect of our life is a “creepy” prospect. It’s almost as if, someone in the current administration read Orwell’s novel “1984,” memorized each sentence, adapted it to a script and is now enacting the narrative in our own country.
It’s an insidious reenactment—where our government creates the terror by their actions around the world and then uses global terrorism as an excuse to invade our privacy and jeopardize our freedom. And now, the repressive part of the Orwellian script begins, when our government needs to observe and control every aspect of society. And hence, the need for the Patriot Act, which as become anything but patriotic. Who would think that librarians would be forced by the FBI to spy on their patrons? But that is exactly what section 215 of the Patriot Act is all about. Federal agents can goosestep into a library, and demand a list of individuals who checked out specific materials. In addition to demanding this info, they have the right to conduct a search of your private records without notifying the Individual who is being searched. That means you’re being watched but you don’t know it! They can check your: financial records; phone records; medical records and travel records. They can even go to Blockbuster, and see what you watched at home Last Saturday night-- all in the guise of your protection.
But who protects us from these protectors? Before the enactment of the Patriot Act, the government needed a warrant or probable cause to access personal information. Under the FISA act of 1978, you could only justify “warrantless” surveillance when gathering foreign intelligence BUT NOW, Bush is even bypassing the FISA Court and using NSA intelligence to DATA MINE U.S. citizens—-is this a democracy or a “terroracracy” run by a bunch of thugs.
Democratic congressmen and senators need to be aggressive, unified and NOT spineless. They must demand an end to both warrantless surveillance and the War in Iraq.

Maggie! Could it be the same Magpie Maggie from primary days (perhaps DFA 1.0, R.I.P.)? While you certainly lived up to your nickname (lots of noise, no real content), you always were something of a canary in the coal mine: the more shrill you got, the more trouble we knew the wingnuts felt they were in.
"why 58Million Americans voted for him,is beyond belief". Not really, Judy: a great many of them did so because they found the alternative which we offered even less appealing. That's something important to remember next time, especially given how determined those who led the party in 2004 seemed to repeat the mistakes of the 2000 election: my forum signatures always read "DLC Delenda Est" for good reason.
I'll second Padmapada's vote for losing the thumping music. Other than that, the ad's fairly good but possibly from the wrong source. A few weeks ago I titled a message to my Republican Congressman urging an independent counsel impeachment investigation "Which comes first, your party or your country?" - but that would have lost a lot of its non-partisan punch and credibility had it appeared under a DNC letterhead.
The ACLU is now developing some truly non-partisan ads in this area which point out explicitly that this is a matter of patriotism, not partisanship, and that seems like a more appropriate venue to me (with, of course, a lot of help from Democrats in the background). Given how execrable the opportunistic and incessant Republican drumbeat for impeachment felt in 1998, and given that a great many non-partisan organizations are sufficiently incensed to be carrying this ball on their own quite adequately, I wonder whether we can keep our party per se on a somewhat higher (though still involved) plane and still accomplish what we need to.

GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for that. Too bad everyone can not handle the "truth". Here are some more:
*TOTAL GOVERNMENT MYTHS*
Written by a patriotic veteran who wrote the book titled: THE RAPING OF OUR NATION... We’re not against taxes -but we are against Govt. & IRS abuses, lies, deceptions, and deceits -to loyal U.S. Tax-Payers!
Our Government has vested interests in Private Enterprise Corporations who owe their allegiance to “MONEY” and not the true welfare of American Citizens EVEN THOUGH WE PAY TAXES FOR PROTECTION. We have been sold-out! Our U.S. Constitution and Amendments mean absolutely ‘nothing’ to the many culprits. Cover-up ‘traitors’ from the President of the U.S. -all the way down to the Cop on the corner who enforces and endorses corrupt Government programs and procedures -being unveiled here. Documented violations are in the thousands. The following researched facts are known only to a handful. Spread the word and let everyone know, = copy, copy, copy! Tell everyone, everywhere!
AIDS (HIV) Many thousands of people throughout this world are infected from what started out as “Germ-Warfare” during World War II -by our Government. As told by a former Surgeon General. The U.S. started AIDS and also had the ‘cure’ for it. It was Colloidal Silver which not only rids the HIV immediately -on contact, but also rids over 605 other pathogens and successfully treats 550 identified major degenerative diseases. Silver ‘bonds’ with the smallest element known = hydrogen, + oxygen -that makes up 80% of body weight. Silver is so safe -it’s put in infants eyes upon birth yet reported toxic by the Medics. A medical doctor patented it in 1938. Every major health organization in this world has been notified -to no avail MONEY TALKS -AND B.S. WALKS! People dying is not as important as that almighty dollar so it has been kept a highly held secret for pharmaceutical profiting. They might lose $’s. Bring in a 16 oz. brown bottle and we’ll fill it for FREE with Colloidal Silver -just to get the feedback -pro or con. Every case known has responded favorably to Silver. This may be ‘forbidden’ information according to the World Health Organization.
They believe we can’t handle the truth!
IRS & INCOME TAXES Every IRS rule, regulation or law is based solely upon U. S. Code Title-26, -but guess what? There has never been an official Title-26. It’s NON-EXISTENT! Official (U.S.C.) titles between 18 to 28 do not exist! WOW! We the American public have been ‘scammed’ again. Not one dime for the U.S. Treasury! It admittedly is endorsed over to the private Federal Reserve Bank, -then loaned back to the U.S. at highly inflated interest rates. Income taxes have never been legal! You, as a U.S. Citizen have the absolute right to make Citizen Arrests upon anyone who makes you pay tax. Crooks have no immunity according to established laws but they always claim they are immune to any prosecution. The IRS is committing Fraud, Conspiracy, Deception, Theft, Treason, Perjury, and Misrepresentation by forcing you to pay tax. Everyone you complain to is ‘in’ on the conspiracy -so take witnesses, film everything and make tapes. Stand up to everyone and you’ll never pay tax again. Make all of them prove Title-26 exists and when they can’t, make a Citizens Arrest to get back all your hard-earned money for all the years the IRS used deception upon you. Abuses ‘must’ stop! Everyone above has been sucking off the ‘tax-tit’ for years at our expense while our elected turn their backs and heads. Our tax money is where all the Government ‘perks’ come from! 92.6% of all IRS arrests are ‘IRS shills’ (“phoney’s”), staged to scare doubting skeptics! Come-on everyone -read between the lines and ACT! You’ll win! Remember -the entire judicial system -learns the truth about the IRS in Law School.
Anyone on the Web quoting Title-26 codes is either ‘naive’ or they are part of the System of crooks! Don’t fall for it!
They steal from the poor and give to the rich!
EGGS ARE HIGH IN CHOLESTEROL FALSE! In a successful attempt to get rid of the small Mom and Pop egg farmers throughout the U.S. and ‘control’ the industry -we now have “Egg-lands-Best” which is literally a government controlled monopoly. Eggs are a perfect blend of the most nutritious protein known that’s been around since man began. If they were high in cholesterol the birds would die. Now they are attacking the meat industry. Big business (government controlled) is taking over this world and everything within. Their goal is the New World Order wherein there will only be two classes of people =Rich & Poor! It’s totalitarianism which history shows has failed in every regime known because in spite of the aristocratic masters the common people have astute educated minds which rebel vehemently when subdued. That’s why our Government could care less about educating our kids. A minimum effort by the Govt. including states has been the rule. The masses outnumber the culprits, so we could rule if we wanted!

HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF IRS & GOVT. SKULDUGGERY. They are taking money from my SSI for past debts that never existed -as proven in Tax Court, 1997.
January 06, 2005
INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE
Department of the Treasury, Fed Pay Levy Prog.
P.O. Box 219236, Stop 5050
Kansas City, MO 64121-9236
RE: STEALING of MY ‘PRIVATE’ SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT FUNDS
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: (Stop 5050)
A three million dollar reward awaits anyone including IRS agents or personnel who can prove the legitimacy of the IRS. The amount was increased by SYLRTC’s, Division # 3 from 2 million dollars three years ago. This is a CU ‘escrow’ account that has never been tapped -to date.
CEO, Dr. Donald E. Jones, SSI-xxx-16-9479, author of book “THE RAPING OF OUR NATION”, ISBN.0-9706930-0-1, sold in book stores, Amazon, etc., has the sole discretionary authorization to release these funds. The book plus all the thousands of other retaliatory actions of exposing IRS legitimacy was initiated due to the IRS 1995 confiscations of authors, home, business, and four bank accounts -leaving 15 family members in the streets to survive. Plus our official VAR’s court transcript (1997), demonstrating the IRS, -a strictly phony-baloney Collection Agency.
The IRS is composed of -probably the lowest of low life individuals sucking off the U.S. ‘Tax-tit’, ruining the lives of innocent, misinformed, naive, patriotic Americans -who honestly believe ‘taxes’ contribute to the operating costs of this government. What a shame!
Employment ‘perks’ of keeping quiet will never justify ‘stealing’ money from the innocent. A bunch of crooks and thieves, who with malice and forethought lie, cheat and steal to family members as well as Veterans who fought and died for their right to exist in a free Republic. The IRS personnel and agents represent the ‘lowest scum’ on this earth.
SYLRTC’s just under 3 million advocates participate in continual mailings via/e-mails and the U.S. Post Office to ‘expose’ your corrupt tactics. Tax payers are simply ‘numbers’, to the IRS -not individuals who have lives. IRS agents are so afraid of ‘liability’ -due to guilt complexes, -they identify themselves as ‘numbers’ rather than ‘names’. For intimidation, harassment, and threats -only ‘form’ letters are ever sent to recipients due to their tremendous guilt obsessions...
When any person in the IRS wants to step-up and be counted -by proving IRS legitimacy, a huge award awaits. Until that day -you, Mr/Ms/Mrs(?) Stop 5050, can take your tax bills, SSI confiscations and shove them up the area of your body where the sun never shines.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, challenge me! We need the publicity and exposure that will be the result. Only this time we are prepared for any and all -IRS heavy-handed skullduggery.
If you do not want to challenge me -but rather wish to discuss this entire matter of owing the IRS (thieves), simply call me wherein we can mutually agree to settle. Every attempt to call your offices in the past has been ‘thwarted’ -as soon as we say we are recording. Seems like the IRS and this government have something big to ‘hide’. IRS owes me $1,750,000. Nixon - Articles of Impeachment
Article 2: Abuse of Power.
Using the powers of the office of President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in disregard of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has repeatedly engaged in conduct violating the constitutional rights of citizens, imparting the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, or contravening the laws governing agencies of the executive branch and the purposes of these agencies.
This conduct has included one or more of the following:
(1) He has, acting personally and through his subordinated and agents, endeavored to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposes not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigation to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.
(2) He misused the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service, and other executive personnel, in violation or disregard of the constitutional rights of citizens, by directing or authorizing such agencies or personnel to conduct or continue electronic surveillance or other investigations for purposes unrelated to national security, the enforcement of laws, or any other lawful function of his office; he did direct, authorize, or permit the use of information obtained thereby for purposes unrelated to national security, the enforcement of laws, or any other lawful function of his office; and he did direct the concealment of certain records made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of electronic surveillance.
(3) He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, in violation or disregard of the constitutional rights of citizens, authorized and permitted to be maintained a secret investigative unit within the office of the President, financed in part with money derived from campaign contributions to him, which unlawfully utilized the resources of the Central Intelligence Agency, engaged in covert and unlawful activities, and attempted to prejudice the constitutional right of an accused to a fair trial.
(4) He has failed to take care that the laws were faithfully executed by failing to act when he knew or had reason to know that his close subordinates endeavored to impede and frustrate lawful inquiries by duly constituted executive; judicial and legislative entities concerning the unlawful entry into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee, and the cover-up thereof, and concerning other unlawful activities including those relating to the confirmation of Richard Kleindienst as attorney general of the United States, the electronic surveillance of private citizens, the break-in into the office of Dr. Lewis Fielding, and the campaign financing practices of the Committee to Re-elect the President.
(5) In disregard of the rule of law: he knowingly misused the executive power by interfering with agencies of the executive branch: including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Criminal Division and the Office of Watergate Special Prosecution Force of the Department of Justice, in violation of his duty to take care that the laws by faithfully executed.
In all of this, Richard M. Nixon has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.
Wherefore Richard M. Nixon, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office.
(Approved 28-10 by the House Judiciary Committee on Monday, July 29, 1974.)

It's obvious King George needs a wire tap of his lame brain so he can remember what he says on a daily basis.
Perhaps his personal circus handlers can utilize the cables and hardware that were strapped to his back during the presidential debates used to feed him answers to the given questions and rebuttals.
He's basically a hollow body that's used as a conduit to push the political agenda of the ultra right(which is to create a police state akin to Hitler's or Stalin's{or Sadam's})
But that would be letting him off the hook, so to speak, for not having any input into this illegal activity.
I'm sure if he finds a good trial lawyer after his impeachment he can plead insanity, which will be the first piece of accurate information coming from this administration.
It's laughable when he and his cohorts blast the media and leakers as potentially ruining a vital national security operation for disclosing this secret(illegal) activity.
I mean, let's get real, if they think the terrorists are so stupid as to not think they may be being listened to, we might as well scrap all our intelligence agencies.
And for the Viceroy to proclaim that the reason we haven't been terrorized since 9/11/01 due to these activities(illegal spying)is outrageous(I guess he beleives he has super-natural, know-all mental powers).
We're actually terrorized every day with the fear that this administration dishes out to us(remember the color coded levels of terror threat and also notice that we don't hear as much as before the presidential election).
Yes, now all the terrorists have to do is make a few phone calls, set human bombs off in Irag, and let King George and Viceroy Dick(head) and company play to our fears.
We all know that there will always be the potential for terrorist activity from outside our borders and from within(remember Tim McVay?), but giving up civil liberties is not the answer.
"LIVE FREE OR DIE" still holds true today in this country as it did two hundred plus years ago.
If we folow this administration's present path. we'll be carrying around a personal video link to monitor our activities 24/7.
It will be another of King George's (FOR THE SAKE OF NATIONAL SECURITY) proclaimations to justify it.

Last night, I was listening to Channel 166 on XM radio, which is a conservative station. Although I don't enjoy listening to this station, I listen while commercials are being aired on Air America (channel 167), to keep up to date on what the right-wingers are saying. Anyways, last night Michael Reagan was talking about this new ad. He said that a large percentage of voters today would have to look up who Richard Nixon was - and then he aired the new ad. He kept laughing (in the self-righteous way that so many conservative radio hosts do) saying that he couldn't understand what in the world the Democrats were trying to say!!!!!
It's scary though. Because I've sent this blog, I'll probably be spied on by my own government.

As it has come to my attention, that this so called War on Terror has allowed the President to exercised an abuse of power during a conflict across the World.
Taking this Paranoia to extremes, he has chosen to sign executive orders to eaves drop on a select number of Long term American's. American's who have peaceably protested the war and probably those who have e-mailed Your President in protest as well.
America is my birth Land and the President and his CO-Conspirators must realize that Democracy is not one sided or without Dissent.
Eves Dropping on fellow Americans without probable cause and without a warrant Violates our Civil Liberties. It is not only UNLAWFUL, but it is UN-AMERICAN and UNPATRIOTIC!
Couple these Unlawful ACTS with the United States use of RENDITION to countries that are lawfully permitted to exercise Torture: has enhanced the terrorist resolve to strike Back.
This may be your narrow minded View of America, but it is Not mine.

Great video. Let's see if our leadership, democrat and republican, can come clean on this issue. I am not sure that all of our democratic leaders were paying attention after 9-11. You will recall many saying that they never read all of the CIA briefings Bush compliled to argue for the Iraq War Resolution; hence, we need to rapidly see which leaders were truely doing their job and read and rejected Bush's eveasedropping policy.
I would gladly pay to see this video broadcast during the NFL Superbowl.

While it is a good ad, it does not have the pure shock value of the MoveOn finalist ad from last year called "In My Country" where you see this ethnic looking guy who might be from the middle east telling you about his country and how in his country you can be detained without access to a lawyer or a judge and without a trial, how the government can spy on you without a warrant, and so on and so on..
After he describes all this horrors he asks the important question: "Why should you care what is going on in MY country?"..."Because my COUNTRY is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and then the camera rotates around to show the Manhattan skyline behind him and you realize that the "foreign" country he was talking from was New Jersey.
Extraordinarily simple, cheap and effective. DNC should buy that ad from MoveOn and run it, or MoveOn should dig it out and run it at the top and bottom of every hour for the next two weeks.

This country also need to take away the abilty of congress to abdicate the power of declaring war to the president. Congress cant do that anymore. Look how dangerous it has become to our constitution.

I am more discouraged and outraged week by week with this criminal Bush administration. Not only are there constant illegal actions but what truly scares me is how arrogant Cheney (the worst I have ever seen) and Bush (too stupid to see he is being used) seem to think they have no accountability. This sense of entitlement to lie, cheat, represent America to the world as they please, throw us into an unnecessary devastating war and even hand this entitlement sceptor to the Republican Congress so they can defy the democratic principles of our Constitution to force their agenda is horrifying.
Who can challenge them? Who will challenge them? I believe impeachment and removal from office is essential. I don't care if the removal from office happens 2 days before Bush's term is over. An example needs to be made. The lesson needs to be taught so no one will feel they can also flaunt the law and feel no remorse and feel confidence they can get away with it. Cheney needs to be removed first and immediately. He is the true source of this arrogant lawlessness. Cheney needs to be publically chastized and brought down. The Republican corruption is so widespread. It needs to be held up for ridicule and for justice. We cannot let this administration dishonor our Constitution and the integrity of our nation. This is a real threat to our Democracy. We need to be able to stand up and tell each other and tell the world "this is not who we are, this is not what our nation stands for, this is not how we bully the world." Again we must state our commitment to freedom, to justice, to integrity, to humanity and to truth. In Jimmy Carter's latest book on the moral decline of our nation is so very true and so very sad. Cheney and the absolute moronic Bush need to be exposed for what they are and for what they have done to destroy the American dream. We must impeach and stand up for what is right and true and for what is truly American.

I am afraid the stentorian silence we are hearing is because our much esteemed and highly valued compatriot, the 4th Estate, has been sold to the highest bidder, and without the news agencies/media telling us the truth, as it DID do during the Watergate Trials, We the People are going to have an extremely hard time going it alone!
It is shameful to what extent the "journalists" have embedded themselves with those who pay the piper. I am afraid that as Citizens without our once trusted ally, the 4th Estate, we will not get it together enough to accomplish what is sadly our duty, namely the Impeachment of a President who Tramples on our Freedoms in the Name of Liberty! It is NOT enough to keep the oil spigot under American control, because America never stood for CONTROL OF THE WORLD. America has always stood for what Emma Lazarus told us that it stood for: A humanity raised with the idea that it is better to: "Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" and with our trust in God, even in the face of the contorted Islamic thuggery, we would win the day. WE ARE NOT BULLIES! That Lady is STILL the Statute of Liberty the last time I looked, not the Statute of Torture!

It occurs to me that the same people who have their panties in a wad about the NSA monitoring program are the same people who, obnoxiously carry on cell phone conversations in public places.
I would be mad as hell if I knew the government had this capability and didn't use it. Clinton couldn't get a definitive legal opinion (permission) on taking out Bin Laden, so he chose to do nothing. Some people intuitively know what to do, others have to ask for permission. The former are called leaders, the latter are called weak.
This is why we keep losing the damn elections.

I hope we as democrats will have the backbone to speak up in public about the president breaking the law. It seams as if all we do is talk about it for a short time and then forget it. The video clip should be running on tv for everyone to see. He needs to be impeached and all of his croneys tossed out. What we don't need is a pres. Cheney, although I think he now running the country. Bush is too stupid to do so himself. IT is a shame whem tv comics joke about how stupid the pres. is . . it makes me ashamed to be a citizen.
Posted by timekeeper on January 8, 2006 at 02:46 PM
President Bush broke the law. PERIOD. He didn't have to break the law. Why is it even a question? Carter, Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton would have most likely been impreached for such behavior. 9/11 didn't change most of the world's risk. Certainly not the risk inside America. What has become of America when it is now a debated on if it is ok to break the law. Do the means justify the end? In this case, the means is violating the core of what America is about.

demsrfuls,
"The former are called leaders, the latter are called weak". The former are called totalitarians and latter are called democrats.
Remember, you are good friends in the White House W, Dick and Rummy haven't taken out Osama!
No President since Richard Nixon, Republican or Democrat has misused NSA. Brownback, no "liberal Democrat from the North-East" has joined so many Americans in taking issue with W on his spying on the citizens of the USA. W, Dick and Cheney are further to the right of Brownback.
Fox News spelt P-R-A-V-D-A finds itself in a smaller and smaller minority supporting and justifying this administrations totalitarian stand!

This is absolutely on the mark; now let's go one step further: The terrorists aim is to disrupt and end our way of life. If, as the President claims, they hate us for our freedoms, then why is his first response to their attacks one that circumvents the Constitution? By doing this, isn't he playing right into their hands, i.e. denying us our freedom, for which, he claims, they attack us? So, let's get on to this: Bush is doing exactly what they want: Ending our way of life and our freedom by disregarding our laws in order to fight unlawfulness!

No need for Congress...
Here's a funny story...:)
New Aix of Evil -- Bush takes over Congress
Bush has decided to take over Congress after declaring Congress a foreign combatant. The move was partially driven by the rising costs of occupations in securing energy concerns for National Security reasons. Citing increased travel costs and foreign language experts, Bush's take over of Congress was a step in showing a conservative cost savings. An order was given for a swift deployment to Aey-laska. Citing foreign intelligence agencies, native terrorists cells have been identified. Evidently the native Elk populations had been seen rubbing horns in the area in a secret note passing scheme. Bush consulted the local Elk Lodge and discovered the native Elk where unpredictable and often carried out suicide missions by hitting the oil pipeline while running full speed at night through the country side.

This is an awesome commercial.
At Christmas we were all (except one brother) in wonderment not over the birth of the baby Jesus but over headlines like "Bush says spying is necessary" et al and we are all just letting it go by as if we are watching Oprah or the Daily Show. What is going on??? Why are we letting this happen? Are we all deer frozen in the headlights? Are all media so wrapped up in 'numbers' that they can't INVESTIGATE? We need a Democrat Congress to turn this government around... AGAIN? We need to start pushing one Democrat agenda - HONESTY IN GOVERNMENT.
Democrats - Ethics at Work
Vote Democrat - Vote for reform
Reform the USA - Vote Democrat
NAME THE TOP RACES WE CAN GET A DEMOCRAT ELECTED. Not by dirty politics Republican style but by honest, hard working politics Democrat style. Bands playing, people dancing, speeches given, Democrats out working hand in hand. Let's start the Democrat Band Wagon and have it's parts in all states. Let's get together like never before. Let's nationalize local politics. Let's have Democrat names be household names.
Be a Democrat, Be a Leader. Easy access to call a phone number to find out "how to register to and how to vote, where, when, what you need to do it" We need nominees who are honest and can touch the dreams and hearts of all people. Leaders who promise to live up to all expectations to the best of their abilities.
It's a great time to be Democrat - you're invited. It's easy, just vote Democrat.

I Stand in support of a court order before The government, or the President can order a wiretap.
Ordering a wiretap with out a court orther is giving to much power to a person and it could definately lead to abuse of power and abolishing of a democratic government, as it is many of the laws being pass are already comming short to be called a democratic country.
The president is complitely out of order because he says one thing and he does another, if this kind of action continues we are definately going to go deeper into trouble than what we have at this time. Mr. prisident its time to come down to earth, stop abusing your power that the people trusted you with and and abuse the intellegence of the people because fooling the people is fooling your own self.
