Rough Seas Ahead For Thompson

The Fred Thompson campaign has seen some tough times lately, confronted with his record as a lobbyist and the subsequent cover-up. That was followed by staff problems at the very top of the campaign.

But rather than kick a man when he's down, we decided to throw him a life vest. The Democratic Party interns paid a visit to his office:

Dear Fred,

With recent reports that your presidential campaign has already been knocked around by some pretty rough seas, we thought you could use a life jacket to help you get your sea legs so you won't have to delay your "official" announcement any longer.

While the rest of your Party’s candidates have been struggling for months to swim upstream against strong anti-Republican currents, we understand that this is your first trip up the river. From senior staffers jumping ship after just a few weeks on the job, to campaign cash trickling in more slowly than expected, we know this must be tougher than you envisioned. Of course, with your lobbying record and previous positions on a variety of issues just now beginning to surface, the forecast calls for even rougher seas ahead.

It’s going to be a long cruise, so good luck keeping your head above water!

Sincerely,

Your Friends at the DNC
