Fred Thompson Thinks There Were WMDs In Iraq

Earlier today in Iowa, Fred Thompson justified his support for the war in Iraq by claiming that Iraq had a nuclear weapons program and had weapons of mass destruction, despite the fact that weapons inspectors have concluded that Iraq had no WMDs.
Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson said today he was certain former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction prior to the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, a point of contention in the 4.5 years since the war began.
"We can't forget the fact that although at a particular point in time we never found any WMD down there, he clearly had had WMD. He clearly had had the beginnings of a nuclear program," the former Tennessee senator told an audience of about 60 at a Newton cafe.
Even George Bush has acknowledged that "Charles Duelfer has now issued a comprehensive report that confirms the earlier conclusion of David Kay that Iraq did not have the weapons that our intelligence believed were there."
Deulfer's Iraq Study group also concluded that Iraq did not have a nuclear weapons program, saying, "Saddam Hussein ended the nuclear program in 1991 following the Gulf War," and there was "no evidence to suggest concerted efforts to restart the program."

Pandering to the conservative/authoritarian crowd who would say, "Even if that were true, I still don't believe it." -in a safe spot where disturbing facts can be ignored, and self-righteousness is justifiably comforting, even pleasureable.
How else can anyone be in fact-denial? Hypnosis?
The WMD was nothing but lies to start this immoral war in Iraq. The only WMD's are Bush, Cheney, and the Republicans in office for using fear and telling nothing but lies to play politics which has resulted in the deaths and torture of thousands of innocent people!
Fred Thompson is about 10 years behind in his Civics ! The old idiot doesn't know what is going on in his own State, how should he know what is going on in the world!
He won't be around very long. the New Reagan was a disappointment before he ever even declared! Another one who is led around by the nose by his wife !
Thompson isn't aware of much (like Terri Schaivo), but he is sure of something that everyone including Bush knows was wrong.
Actually, he's pretty consistent. He's wrong about everything...and doesn't care if he gets it right or not.
"We can't forget the fact that although at a particular point in time we never found any WMD down there, he clearly HAD HAD WMD. He clearly HAD HAD the beginnings of a nuclear program,"

First, a couple of comments. I am a Democrat and have been for a long time. If you propose to pro-
vide information containing opinions regarding
politicians of other parties, you won't get any-
where treating me like the Republicans treat
their "base".
Mr. Thompson might have used less awkward syntax,
possibly grammar as well. But, as I understand the
English language, HAD HAD is past tense. Can you spell SCUD?
I am retired. I am not employed. Anyone could say
about me, "he had had a job" and, are you ready
for this - anyone would be right. Come on, people,
try not to sink so low to make a point you drop out
of sight and hearing. I will still be a democrat
but I won't be using you as a source for any-
thing.

I knew that Freddy was a cheeseball but this is just plain demented. Can someone find Freddy's red truck?
I would like you to google Democratic lies and look at the second one down. at the Free Republic.com web site and look at the comments of democratic leaders just a few short years ago. How soon we forget
