Video: Ahead of Trump’s Dallas Rally, Rep. Escobar Highlights His Record of Broken Promises to Texans

Today, Donald Trump will travel to Dallas, Texas for his third rally in the state this year. Donald Trump is showing up to Texas with a trail of broken promises and with no real results for hardworking Texans.

That’s why the Texas Democratic Party released a new video today featuring U.S. Representative Veronica Escobar (TX-16) setting the record straight on Trump’s broken promises to Texans – from the economy, to health care, and on immigration.

“Donald Trump has failed to deliver for Texas families. He is failing on the economy, health care, and immigration — and now is struggling to hold on to the Lone Star State.” – Rep. Veronica Escobar.

REPRESENTATIVE ESCOBAR ON TRUMP’S BROKEN PROMISES

FULL TEXT:

Hi, I’m Veronica Escobar, the representative from El Paso in the great state of Texas.

Today, Donald Trump will be in Dallas for yet another rally. Over the years, Donald Trump has come to Texas, he’s made Texas-sized promises to my fellow Tejanos, but he’s failed to keep them.

So let me be clear, Donald Trump has failed to deliver for Texas families. He is failing on the economy, health care, and immigration — and now is struggling to hold on to the Lone Star State.

Here are three of Donald Trump’s broken promises to Texans:

The Border Wall: President Trump said over 200 times that Mexico would pay for an ill-conceived, ineffective border wall. In reality, American taxpayers are paying for Donald Trump’s vanity wall. Not to mention, he’s diverting $38.5 million in military construction funds already appropriated by Congress for Texas’s Fort Bliss and Joint Base San Antonio. His wall comes at the expense of our men and women in uniform.

On Health Care: Four years ago, at another Dallas rally, Donald Trump promised to do “something really good with health care.” All he’s done is jeopardize the health care of millions of Texans. If he succeeds in overturning the ACA, 1.7 million more Texans could become uninsured and nearly 10.7 million people with preexisting conditions in our state could lose their protections.

Protecting hard-working Texans: Donald Trump’s tax scam has been a Texas-sized boon for large corporations and the very rich — while abandoning hardworking Texan families. Texans will now have to foot the bill, as Trump’s tax scam is projected to raise taxes for 5 million Texans.
