“77 years ago, American and Allied forces bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, aiming to restore the ideals and freedoms that power our nation. Today, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to defeat the Nazis and safeguard democracy. As we celebrate our nation’s veterans and commemorate those who sacrificed so much for us to thrive, let us also recommit ourselves to advancing the promise of freedom and democracy.” |
