Today, a federal judge in Texas ruled Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program implemented by President Obama providing protections for young undocumented immigrants, illegal — blocking approval of all new applications. DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement:

“Today’s ruling is a gut punch to the Dreamers who call our country home. This ruling makes it clearer than ever that Congress must take action. Immigrant communities can’t wait. It is long past time for Republicans to join Democrats in protecting Dreamers and creating a pathway to citizenship — an action supported by a bipartisan majority of Americans.”
