Today, on the first day of her second foreign trip, Vice President Kamala Harris was off to a successful start as she highlighted the United States’ commitment to strengthening our alliances and working with our partners to tackle key challenges, including evacuation efforts in Afghanistan. Thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris, the United States is once again respected and leading on the world stage.

Associated Press: “Harris’ visit to Singapore and Vietnam this week is seen as the first real test of the Biden administration’s ability to reassure key allies of its resolve.”

Washington Post: “‘The reason I am here is because the United States is a global leader, and we take that role seriously,’ Harris said at a news conference with Lee. The initiatives, she added, ‘speak, I believe, volumes in terms of the integrity of the relationships the United States has around the world.’”

Vice President Harris is working with our partners to counter China’s influence and tackle key issues, including climate change, cybersecurity, and the pandemic.
