DNC on February Jobs Report

| DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement in response to the February jobs report: “Today’s news is another sign that President Biden’s economic plan is working and our economic recovery is booming. Let’s be very clear — the American Rescue Plan is the biggest driver behind this historic economic recovery, which every single Republican in Congress voted against. While there is still more work to be done, thanks to President Biden and Democrats alone, we’ve created millions more jobs than anyone had predicted, gotten over 200 million Americans vaccinated, and tackled supply chain issues. “If we saw this kind of record job numbers under the previous president, there would be unbridled joy from the Republican Party. But we’re sure to see a muted response today, because this Republican Party not only roots against our economic recovery, but they tried to stop it. Now, instead of joining Democrats to lower costs for American families, Republicans are once again trying to stand in the way with no plan of their own other than to raise taxes on over half of Americans. This November, Democrats will make sure every Republican lawmaker has to answer for their outright refusal to support the American people.” |
