DNC Statement on Yom Kippur
October 5, 2022
In observance of Yom Kippur, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison; DNC Interfaith Council Co-chairs Nadia Ahmad, Cindy Bass, Sarah Levin, and Johnnie Roebuck; and DNC’s Senior Advisor for Interfaith Engagement Rev. Frederick Davie released the following statement:
“Every year, Yom Kippur provides us with the opportunity to search for clarity, reflection, and forgiveness. In the spirit of Yom Kippur, we consider how we can live our lives with tikkun olam in mind, and how we can incorporate justice and love in all that we do.
“We extend our wishes to all those who observe Yom Kippur for an easy and meaningful fast. G’mar chatima tova to all those celebrating across our country, and as Democrats, let us be motivated by the principles of today’s observation to continue to strive for a more fair and just world.”
