Donald Trump keeps trying to rewrite his abortion extremism, but we agree with him on one thing: no one has ever done more to pave the way for extreme abortion bans in this country than him. It’s directly thanks to Trump’s MAGA agenda that Republicans across the country are ripping away women’s right to make their own medical decisions – and Trump owns every new extreme abortion ban the GOP pushes. 

It doesn’t matter how much Trump tries – his record in office speaks for itself: when he was president, Trump pledged to sign a national abortion ban that could have thrown doctors in jail.

The Hill: “The Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks… It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.”

Trump has gone as far as calling to punish women who have an abortion. 

Donald Trump: “There has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].”

Take it from Trump himself – who remains unashamed in bragging about all he’s done to pave the way for extreme abortion bans in this country. 

Trump: “Nobody has ever done more for ‘Right to Life’ than Donald Trump. I put three Supreme Court justices, who all voted, and they got something that they’ve been fighting for 64 years, or many, many years”

CNN: “‘There has been no bigger advocate for the [pro-life] movement than President Trump.’ said Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung in a statement to CNN.”The Washington Post: “Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Trump, said in a statement that Trump’s ‘unmatched record speaks for itself,’ pointing to his policies and appointments of antiabortion federal judges and Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade last summer, erasing a ruling that established a constitutional right to abortion and delivering a decades-long priority for conservative Christians.”
