Joint Statement From DNC, DSCC, DGA, DCCC, DAGA, DLCC, DASS, DMA On the One Year Anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

On the one year anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, DSCC Chair Gary Peters, DGA Chair Phil Murphy, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene, DAGA Co-Chairs Aaron Ford and Kathy Jennings, DLCC Chair Andrea Stewart-Cousins, DASS Chair Jena Griswold, and Democratic Mayors Association President Levar M. Stoney issued the following joint statement:

“In just one year since conservative Supreme Court justices took away women and families’ right to make their own health care decisions, Republicans have pushed forward a wave of abortion bans that threaten women and families’ freedom and reproductive care, and criminalize abortion without exceptions for rape or incest.”

“Over the last year, Democrats have stood with Americans in fighting back, repeatedly rejecting MAGA Republicans’ attacks on their freedoms at the ballot box and electing Democrats at every level of government who are the last line of defense for Americans’ reproductive rights. The stakes couldn’t be higher: while Republicans nationwide are running on taking away rights and dictating women’s private medical decisions, Democrats from city halls to the White House remain unwavering in our commitment to making sure women and families have the right to make their own decisions about their health care.”
