In response to Mike Johnson dismissively saying Americans should “grapple with” whether or not standard IVF practices are murder, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: 

“It is disgusting that Mike Johnson thinks we should ‘grapple with’ whether or not IVF treatments — which have resulted in the birth of over 8 million Americans — amount to murder. Only an out-of-touch MAGA weirdo like Johnson would think that nearly half-a-century-old IVF treatments are part of ‘a brave new world.’ The reality is voters want nothing to do with his extreme and unpopular anti-choice agenda that would put Americans’ basic freedom to start and grow a family at risk.”

Mike Johnson co-sponsored the Life at Conception Act, which DOES NOT include any exception for in vitro fertilization – and could rip away access to IVF treatment from families who desperately want a baby.

Let’s not forget that MAGA Mike Johnson has a long record of refusing to let women make their own health care decisions.

Johnson is a MAGA minion merely parroting his leader, Donald Trump, who also refuses to own up to his own role in stopping IVF treatment in Alabama because of HIS hand-picked justices overturning Roe v. Wade.

Extreme Republicans are struggling to explain how they can support IVF despite backing the Life at Conception Act, which could rip away IVF access from families nationwide.
