Trump’s VP Contenders Push Anti-Choice Agenda as He Speaks to Extremists Who Want Abortion “Eradicated Entirely”
June 11, 2024
While Donald Trump speaks at an event with extremists who want abortion ‘eradicated entirely,’ his anti-choice VP contenders are pushing the cruel MAGA agenda to ban abortion and rip away reproductive freedoms. In response, DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement:
“Donald Trump and his VP contenders have already embraced a dangerous anti-choice agenda, and today, Trump — who called cruel abortion bans a ‘beautiful thing to watch’ just days ago — is making his plans clear by cozying up to extremists who called abortion ‘child sacrifice’ and want abortion ‘eradicated entirely.’ While the overwhelming majority of Americans support reproductive health care access, Trump’s anti-freedom VP contenders know that Trump wants a running mate who shares his extreme ultra-MAGA agenda. That’s why all of his VP candidates are ready to sign onto the same extreme platform to ban abortion — and put our basic rights on the ballot this November.”
Today, Trump spoke to the Danbury Institute, an anti-choice extremist group that calls abortion “child sacrifice,” wants abortion to be “eradicated entirely,” and has praised Trump for overturning Roe v. Wade.
Politico: “Trump to make virtual appearance at event with group that calls abortion ‘child sacrifice’”
“Trump is scheduled to make a virtual appearance Monday at an event hosted by the Danbury Institute, an organization that also seeks to ban same-sex marriage and use the Bible to guide public policy, according to its website…
“The Danbury Institute, a Christian advocacy group established earlier this year by a coalition of churches, Christians and other organizations, on its website says that abortion ‘must be ended’ and that it ‘will not rest until it is eradicated entirely.’ …
“Sharayah Colter, a spokesperson for the Danbury Institute, said the organization is ‘grateful for the work President Trump did in nominating Supreme Court justices who eventually ruled in the Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade’ and that the former president “continually advocated for the sanctity of human life which Christians championed and were eager to support” during his presidency.”
Trump is looking for an anti-abortion extremist to be his running mate as he pushes a cruel anti-choice agenda to rip away women’s freedoms.
