After Mike Johnson lied to try to cover for Donald Trump hours after his campaign admitted that he called Milwaukee “a horrible city,” DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: 

“Mike Johnson can’t even admit that Donald Trump lost the last election, so it’s no surprise he’s lying about Trump calling Milwaukee ‘horrible’ even after the Trump campaign admitted he said it. Putting loyalty to Trump over basic facts is nothing new in Trump’s Republican Party – and this kind of sad display and brazen lying about the truth is exactly why voters will reject Trump, Johnson, and the rest of their MAGA minions in November.”
