New: Poll Shows How Unpopular Trump’s Gerrymandering Scheme Is With Hoosiers, Majority Oppose Plan

Today, as Indiana Republicans prepare to meet with Trump’s White House behind closed doors to discuss the expansion of Trump’s anti-democratic gerrymandering scheme, new polling shows that a majority of Hoosiers don’t support this scheme.

52% of Hoosiers surveyed don’t want Indiana to redistrict — and that number rises to 60% once Hoosiers better understand what Trump’s scheme entails.

This new poll continues a national trend of voters broadly opposingTrump’s scheme to hold onto power.

In response to Indiana Republicans meeting with Trump’s White House today behind closed doors to discuss gerrymandering Indiana, DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman issued the following statement:

“As Indiana Republicans meet with Trump’s White House behind closed doors, poll after poll shows two things we all know: Americans everywhere hate Trump’s budget bill, and they hate his gerrymandering scheme to disenfranchise voters. Indiana Republicans wrecked our economy and health care so badly that they know the only way they can win the next election is to cheat. Instead of addressing out-of-control utility bills and grocery prices, Trump and Vance would rather scam their way into holding their razor-thin congressional majority. Indiana Democrats are fighting back every step of the way. If Republicans want a showdown, they will get a showdown.”
