Even Republicans Are Slamming Mike Collins Over Deepfake AI Video: “Collins is a Dirtbag”

Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia, Mike Collins, is facing mounting criticism across the political spectrum — even from his own party — after his campaign posted a deepfake AI video that lies and deceptively misleads voters. The deepfake comes after Collins voted for Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, which kicks half a million Georgians off their health care, and continues to support doubling the health insurance premiums of thousands more Georgians.

Take a look at some of the right-wing criticism below:

Conservative radio host Eric Von Haessler slammed Mike Collins on-air, “Collins is a dirtbag to do this. … You and your campaign don’t respect limits. And I’ll say dirtbag 50 times in a row.”

Shelley Wynter, another conservative radio host, said, “This is another misstep by the campaign.” He added, “It’s an immature campaign, it’s an immature move. … It doesn’t show the seriousness that you need to have to be a U.S. Senator.”

The “misstep” by Collins’ campaign caused even more infighting in an already “combustible” GOP primary for Georgia’s U.S. Senate, with fellow Republican candidate Derek Dooley mocking Mike Collins for “shooting himself in the foot.”

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman released the following statement:

“Even Republicans think Mike Collins is way too extreme to ever step foot in the Senate. Mike Collins is lying to Georgia voters because he has nothing else to stand on. He’s sold out Georgians time and time again, including saying he ‘couldn’t be prouder’ to support Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that is raising costs and kicks half a million Georgia families off their health care. Mike Collins is desperate and weak — and come Election Day 2026, voters are going to send him packing.”
