IN THE STATES: Democrats On Offense Ahead of Upcoming Elections, GOP Illegal Gerrymandering Scheme Receives Another Failure

Yesterday, the DNC announced a new bilingual organizing blitz to support Miami mayoral candidate Eileen Higgins ahead of the runoff election on December 9. Building Democratic power in the South is a major priority for the DNC, which is why the DNC is fighting hard to flip Miami’s mayoral seat blue for the first time in nearly 30 years. The DNC is all-in to elect Eileen Higgins and ensure Miami families have a champion fighting on their behalf, not Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, in a win for Texas voters, a federal court struck down Texas Republicans’ rigged congressional maps that diluted Black and brown representation. The DNC recently released a new mini-documentary featuring multi-generational South Dakota family farmers Charlie Johnson, Shane Merrill, and Frank Kloucek, who share their stories of how hard farming has become for them under Donald Trump’s disastrous trade war. Trump promised to put “America First,” but his chaotic economic agenda has wrecked the U.S. economy, tipped the agricultural sector into recession, and put family farms on the brink of bankruptcy.
