Vance Heads to PA-07 to Try to Sell Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that Will Cost Local Families $1,000 A Year
December 16, 2025

Today, JD Vance will travel to Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District to try to stem the bleeding of Trump’s approval rating, which continues to hit all-time lows, especially when it comes to his mishandling of the economy. While Donald Trump thinks affordability is a “hoax” and “con job,” Pennsylvania families know the reality as they struggle under Trump’s rising costs and sinking job market.
Trump’s economic policies have been a total disaster for families in PA-07.
- The median household in the district will lose over $1,000 per year from the combined effects of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill and reckless trade war.
- Trump’s Big Ugly Bill cuts SNAP benefits for over 6,000 families in PA-07 alone, where 13% of households rely on SNAP.
- The Big Ugly Bill kicks over 17,500 families in the district off their health insurance.
A Reminder: Trump recently rated his handling of the economy “A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus,” despite polling showing 64% of Americans disapprove of his economic policies and 60% disapprove of his job performance overall.
In response to JD Vance’s trip to PA-07, DNC Vice Chair Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta released the following statement:
“Donald Trump and JD Vance continue to betray hardworking Pennsylvania families and dismiss their pain — and today’s cleanup tour won’t convince anyone to buy their B.S. Donald Trump and JD Vance are scared that Pennsylvania voters will hold them accountable in the midterms, which is why they’ve come to the Commonwealth multiple times to try to gaslight voters that their inflationary agenda isn’t raising costs when they can see it plainly on their monthly bills. As the holidays approach, Pennsylvanians are paying more at the grocery store and department store — and they know Donald Trump is to blame.”
