Tonight, Donald Trump will mark the beginning of the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations with a party for himself. As Americans celebrate our democracy and the values of freedom and opportunity this summer, Trump continues to brag about his disastrous economy that is crushing working families and raising costs — all while he profits off the presidency and cashes in on his brazen corruption.
In less than two years, Trump has decimated the economy and plunged the country into numerous foreign conflicts, forcing working families to foot the bill for his disastrous agenda. American households have spent an extra $1,313 due to Trump’s war with Iran, and have spent more than $3,100 on goods and services since Trump took office. Meanwhile, Democrats in Washington and across the country are working to lower costs on groceries, housing, and healthcare, and restore the American Dream for all Americans.
