According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline is above $4.00
As Donald Trump continues to wage his deadly and costly war of choice with Iran, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline has been rising and is above $4.00 today. Pentagon officials admitted that Trump’s war has cost American taxpayers $100 billion — four times the previous $25 billion estimate — and cost consumers nearly $150 billion and counting, about $1,100 per household since the war started.
Three more U.S. service members were killed this weekend, with a fourth missing, bringing the total number of fatalities to 17. Meanwhile, Trump is ramping up military action again, ordering daily strikes over the weekend and even threatening to put U.S. troops on the ground. Trump’s war with Iran is the most unpopular war since polling began, yet Trump and JD Vance have no plan to bring an end to the war.
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“Donald Trump’s deadly and costly war with Iran continues to claim the lives of U.S. service members, while sending prices back home soaring. Americans are stretching their budgets even further to afford high prices at the pump and grocery store, while Trump forces them to foot the bill for his endless war. Trump promised to lower costs and end ‘forever wars,’ yet he continues to spend billions of taxpayer dollars on bombs for this war as working families struggle to make ends meet under his failed agenda.”
Even Trump’s base of supporters has soured on his job performance. A new poll last week found that only 15% of people “strongly approve” of Trump’s job performance — a record low in the poll’s history and 12 points lower than when Trump returned to office.
