BREAKING: Gas Prices Have Been Above $4 Per Gallon For More Days Than Any Year on Record as Inflation Skyrockets

As Donald Trump and JD Vance’s deadly and costly war with Iran rages on with no end in sight, gas prices have now been above $4 per gallon for 158 days this year, which is more days than any other year on record. The national average price for a gallon of gas today sits at a whopping $4.33 and diesel is $6.30 per gallon — up $1.25 for gas and $2.67 for diesel since Trump and Vance took office.

A recent forecast from Trump’s own administration shows that gas prices are expected to continue to rise and diesel will remain above $4 per gallon until at least 2028.

New inflation data released today also showed inflation reached 3.7% in September — above expectations and the highest rate since May — with high gas prices accounting for more than half of the increase for all items. High prices continue to erase workers’ wage gains.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“Nearly nine months into Donald Trump and JD Vance’s deadly and costly war with Iran, Americans continue to pay exorbitant prices at the pump and grocery store with no relief in sight. Working families are drowning under the weight of high costs as their paychecks get eaten up by inflation, but Trump and Vance continue to look the other way. Voters are fed up with Trump and Republicans giving them the cold shoulder as they double down on their price-spiking policies, and in less than three weeks, they will send Republicans packing.”

A new report found that American households have shelled out an additional $265 billion on everyday essentials since Trump started his war with Iran — an average of nearly $2,000 per household, including $1,100 more per household on energy costs. Meanwhile, costs are likely to continue to rise as Trump has indicated he will continue bombing Iran after the midterm elections.
