DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after Florida voters elected Democrat Annette Taddeo in Florida’s special state senate election:

“I want to congratulate Annette Taddeo on her victory in Florida’s 40^th Senate District, and I want to thank every single organizer and volunteer who knocked on doors, made calls, and ultimately helped us flip this seat. By electing Annette Taddeo, Floridians in the 40^th Senate District have sent a loud and clear message that the Democratic Party has their back and shares their values.

“Today’s election is just the latest example of how Democrats can win when we lead with our values and organize in every zip code.
