DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s failure to recertify the Iran agreement:

“Donald Trump is making America and the world less safe. By failing to recertify this agreement, Trump is ignoring the views of his own national security team, as well as the broad consensus of national security experts in both parties. Worse still, he’s sending a message to the world that America isn’t serious about keeping its commitments.

“Congress can’t allow Donald Trump’s recklessness to endanger our national security, undermine American credibility, and erode the world’s trust in our leadership. There is no question that we must address Iran’s ongoing destabilizing behavior, but this decision only creates a new and unnecessary crisis that threatens the security of our country and the world.”
