DNC on New Developments in Investigations Involving Trump and Associates
October 25, 2017
In response to recent developments regarding the ongoing investigations of Donald Trump and his associates, DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson released the following statement:
“While Republicans continue their campaign of distraction, we continue to learn new details about the serious and ongoing investigations of Donald Trump and his close associates. Today, we learned that Trump’s campaign data firm reached out to Julian Assange, Russia’s election meddling co-conspirator, in an apparent attempt to coordinate with foreign entities trying to interfere in our election. Meanwhile, we learned of new allegations of money laundering and suspicious real estate transactions against multiple members of Trump’s inner circle.
“Instead of helping the American people find answers or take steps to prevent our democracy from being attacked again, the Republican Party would rather cover for Trump’s recklessness, excuse his campaign’s ties to Russia, and push their party further into chaos.”
