In response to reports that Donald Trump Jr. corresponded with Wikileaks during the 2016 election, DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson released the following statement:

“Donald Trump Jr. repeatedly communicated with Wikileaks at a time when it was already clear to the world that the site was acting as a co-conspirator in Russia’s unprecedented election meddling. Trump Jr.’s communications with Wikileaks reveal a blatant disregard for our national security and prove once again that ‘America First’ was nothing more than a slogan to the Trump family.

“Congress must commit to protecting the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. The American people want answers.”
