DNC on the White House’s Defense of Rob Porter
February 7, 2018
DNC Women’s Media Director Elizabeth Renda issued the following statement on the White House ignoring Rob Porter’s history of domestic violence and its continued defense of him today.
“This disturbing episode speaks volumes about the values of this President and his most senior aides. Clearly, the President who promised to hire ‘the best people’ has set no standard for the character of those who serve in some of the most important positions in our government.
“With its dismissal of warnings about Porter’s past and continued defense of him today, the White House is turning its back on women yet again. Donald Trump has created a moral vacuum in our nation’s highest office. We shouldn’t have to beg our White House to condemn domestic violence.”
