This morning, Tom Perez joined CNN’s Chris Cuomo to talk about Conor Lamb’s successful effort to flip Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district from red to blue – a district that Donald Trump won by 19 points in 2016. Here’s a preview of what Tom had to say about Conor’s upset victory in one of the reddest districts in the country:
“We can win everywhere. Whoever says that you have to either compete for white working class voters or for communities of color, I categorically reject that false choice because we've won in Alabama. We won here in Pennsylvania, a district that's 93% white. We helped elect people like the mayor of Atlanta, the mayor of Charlotte who are remarkable African-American women. We can win everywhere. We are winning everywhere. We're organizing everywhere and that's why Democrats are back.”
