In response to the Trump administration proposal to curb debt relief for defrauded students, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:

“Instead of going after predatory, for-profit schools that defraud students, Betsy DeVos is making life more difficult for those who have fallen victim to them. This new proposal will cut billions of dollars in debt relief for defrauded students and would encourage for-profit colleges to take part in even more abusive practices. While the Trump administration refuses to hold predatory institutions accountable, Democrats are fighting to ensure all students can receive a good education without being cheated out of their savings.”
