New data reveals that American households have spent an extra $775 to $1,313 due to Donald Trump’s unpopular war with Iran. A significant portion of these costs come from a $555 increase in fuel and fertilizer costs.
Working families are already grappling with spending more than $3,100 on goods and services, including $622 more on housing costs, $310 more for groceries, and $110 more for electricity since Trump took office.
Since Trump has waged his war with Iran and failed to secure a solid deal, Americans have spent $44 billion more on gas. That means the average family has spent $372 more on gas during the war.
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
“Donald Trump has forced working families to foot the bill for his reckless and unpopular agenda. Trump’s agenda is making life unaffordable as everyday Americans are choosing whether to put food on the table or pay rent. Yet Trump can be found taking taxpayer dollars to fund his vanity projects, instead of providing any relief to working families and fixing his cratering economy.”
