As Florida remains near record highs for COVID hospitalizations and deaths, Senator Marco Rubio has made the baffling decision to head to Iowa for a campaign fundraiser. DNC spokesperson Adonna Biel released the following statement in response:
“As Florida continues to face a spike in COVID hospitalizations, Senator Marco Rubio is exactly where we would expect him to be: teasing another presidential run. When the going gets tough it seems Florida Republicans would rather be anywhere but their home state taking responsibility for their failed leadership. Maybe Senator Rubio should spend his time calling on his governor to get COVID under control or explaining why he voted against providing Floridians the relief they needed instead of putting politics ahead of their lives.”
