CORRUPTION WATCH: Trump Financial Disclosures Exposes More Pay-to-Play Politics and Self-Dealing

Nearly 70% of Americans — including half of Republicans — believe Trump allows his business interests to influence his decisions

Recent financial disclosures reveal how Donald Trump continues to auction off the White House to the highest bidder, using the presidency to enrich himself and his family even as his policies drive up costs for working families and small businesses.

Various companies that donated to Trump’s super PAC —  MAGA Inc. —  were rewarded with lucrative federal contracts or favorable actions. A subsidiary owned by the private prison company GEO Group donated more than $1.4 million to Trump’s super PAC after the Trump administration awarded the company $165 million in federal contracts to operate ICE detention centers. The company owns various detention centers that have reportedly operated under inhumane conditions as Trump carries out his cruel deportation agenda.

Meanwhile, the Trump family’s net worth has nearly doubled since the 2024 election to a whopping $10 billion. Trump himself raked in at least $2 billion since returning to the White House — more than any other year.

Trump disclosed over 1,000 financial transactions in June, totaling between $78.1 million and $263.1 million. Trump’s financial disclosures earlier this year revealed that he made 21,285 financial transactions in 2025, including purchases of millions of dollars in major companies that have business interests in front of the administration.

Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have leveraged their ties to the administration to further their business ventures and enrich themselves. The head of the defense contracting firm Hadrian — which is backed by Trump Jr.’s investment firm 1789 Capital — donated nearly $450,000 to Republicans just months after winning a $900 million contract from the federal government. The same month, executives from Trump Jr.’s firm — whose invested companies have received numerous government contracts — donated a combined $300,000 to the Republican National Committee.

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

“Donald Trump continues to use the presidency as his personal piggy bank. Since entering office, Trump has used his position to enrich himself and his family while everyday Americans struggle to make ends meet. Working families are breaking the bank to afford everything from groceries to gas to rent — and Trump is using the power of the presidency to give special favors and handouts to the ultra-rich. Americans are tired of Trump leaving them in the dust while putting himself and his rich donors first.”

A majority of Americans believe Trump and his family have inappropriately profited from their crypto ventures and nearly 70% of Americans — including half of Republicans — believe Trump allows his business interests to influence his decisions.
