DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement on the results of tonight’s special election in Missouri, where Democrats flipped a seat in the State Legislature in a district that went for Trump by 28 points. Democrats have now flipped 35 state legislative seats from red to blue since last year:
“Congratulations to Representative-Elect Mike Revis on his victory tonight. This continues the trend we saw in 2017: Democrats winning across the country as voters reject a Republican agenda that prioritizes the wealthiest at the expense of hardworking families.
“Missouri voters deserve representatives who will work together to build an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few, and they can count on Democrats to do just that. As Mike prepares to serve the people of Missouri, I know he’ll put working families first.”
