The DNC congratulates Aisha Wahab on winning the special election for California’s 14th Congressional District. Democratic voters across California once again backed a candidate who is focused on lowering costs, protecting healthcare, and fighting for working families.
In response to Wahab winning the special election, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
“Aisha Wahab is a proven leader who is fighting for the American Dream we all believe in. She broke barriers by becoming the nation’s first Afghan American woman elected to public office. Since then, Wahab has led the fight for affordability, healthcare, workers’ rights, public safety, and an economy that works for everyone. I know that she’ll continue this fight as she proudly represents California’s 14th Congressional District.”
