The DNC congratulates Dr. Amish Shah on his victory in the Democratic primary for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District — a race that will help flip the House of Representatives in November.
In response to Amish Shah’s victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
“As an emergency room physician and former member of the Arizona House of Representatives, Dr. Amish Shah has a record of fighting for Arizonans and delivering for his neighbors. He knows how to bring people together to solve tough challenges. In the legislature, he had more bills signed into law than any Arizona Democrat in the last decade — from championing investments in public health and education, to investing in small businesses. In Congress, he will fight to lower costs for working families, protect Social Security and healthcare, support children’s education, and safeguard local communities.
