DNC Launches New Mini-Documentary Featuring Texans Struggling to Make Ends Meet Under Trump

Today, the DNC released a new mini-documentary featuring Texans’ personal stories of how Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs, cruel cuts to programs families rely on, and deadly and costly war with Iran have driven up costs on everything from groceries, gas, utilities, healthcare, childcare, and housing, while wrecking the job market.

The average household in Texas has paid over $2,800 in additional costs, including an additional $310 on grocery costs and $329 on housing costs, since Trump took office. Texans have spent $7 billion more on gas since Trump began his war with Iran, with the average family having spent $696 more. Meanwhile, Trump has raked in at least $2 billion since returning to the White House, and the Trump family’s net worth has nearly doubled since the 2024 election to a whopping $10 billion.
