DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after Arizonans elected Captain Mark Kelly as their next U.S. senator:
“Congratulations to Captain Mark Kelly and Arizona Democrats on this incredible victory. Captain Kelly has devoted his life to taking on the toughest challenges, serving a quarter century in the U.S. Navy and NASA. And he will continue to serve all Arizonans with courage and integrity in the United States Senate by protecting their health care, rebuilding our economy, and taking bold action to fight this pandemic after Martha McSally and Donald Trump’s failures. The DNC was proud to work and invest in the Arizona Democratic Party through our Battleground Build-Up program, and we look forward to seeing all that Senator-elect Kelly accomplishes in office.”
