In response to reports that public information on Ivanka Trump’s business ties have been shrouded in secrecy, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:
“After taking a position in the White House, Ivanka Trump’s business ties have been increasingly shrouded in secrecy. We know she manufactures all of her products overseas. We know she makes the bulk of her products in China. We know her manufacturers mistreat workers. But what we don’t know is the extent to which foreign governments could use, or are already using, her business ties to try to influence the White House. If we’ve learned anything about how the Trump family does business, we know that we can’t trust them, and their lack of transparency is deeply concerning.”
