In response to a video released by Congressman Clay Higgins that he filmed inside a gas chamber at the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:
“Nearly a million Jewish people and thousands of others were murdered at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It should be a place of reflection and mourning, not a political stage. These actions are despicable from anyone, let alone a member of Congress, and disparage the memory of those whose lives were lost. Congressman Higgins should apologize immediately and educate himself on the history of the ground he stood on, because right now he appears incredibly unaware.”
