In response to an analysis by the Social Security Administration’s chief actuary, which determined Trump’s plan to eliminate the payroll tax could deplete Social Security by 2023, DNC War Room senior spokesperson and advisor Lily Adams released the following statement:
“Donald Trump is a threat to Social Security, full stop. Trump has tried to cut the program every year, and now he wants to take funding away from Social Security to make up for the economic damage of his failed coronavirus response. Americans know they can’t trust Trump to protect their economic security.”
