DNC Statement on Lunar New Year

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, DNC Vice Chair Tammy Duckworth, and DNC AAPI Caucus Chair Bel Leong-Hong released the following statement on the Lunar New Year:

“Happy Lunar New Year and warmest wishes to all those celebrating the Year of the Tiger. The Tiger is a symbol of strength and power, and as we look ahead to all that is to come this year, may we look to it and other traditions to inspire us to persevere through challenges and rejoice in our triumphs.

“We recommit ourselves today and every day to tackling the rise in harassment and racism the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities face. And we celebrate the rich and important contributions of our AAPI artists, politicians, service members, union workers, small business owners, all our health care workers who continue to take care of us during this pandemic, and all those in the AAPI community. We look forward to continuing our work to preserve our Democracy, our values, and the rights of every American.”
