President Biden delivered on another campaign promise by taking historic action on targeted student loan debt relief for millions of working- and middle-class Americans. President Biden’s bold action will be felt by families across the country and will finally give breathing room to millions of borrowers who are struggling to make ends meet.
For too long, Americans hoping to earn their way into the middle class have been saddled with the astronomical cost of higher education making it difficult to buy a home, start a business, and save for retirement. This targeted action will help borrowers who need it most and is a critical step toward lowering costs for American families.
President Biden has canceled more student loan debt than any other president, and we are proud to stand by the Biden-Harris administration as they take on the student loan debt crisis – which disproportionately impacts communities of color – and bring down costs.
