DNC Statement on Ramadan

Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez released the following statement on the start of Ramadan:

“Across the United States and around the world, Muslim families are preparing for a holy month of prayer, reflection, and fasting. In this moment of crisis, Ramadan reminds us of the strength that can be drawn from within. As countless Muslim health care workers and first responders serve on the frontlines of the pandemic, this is a time to cherish our communities and bring out the best in ourselves.

“While this month will see prayers offered at home and fasts broken in solitude, the blessings of the holy month will continue to grace worshippers everywhere. Today and always, we stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters — Ramadan Mubarak!”
