DNC spokesperson Adonna Biel released the following statement as Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee skip town after continuing to hold up President Biden’s well-qualified nominees to the Federal Reserve:
“Once again, Senate Republicans – led by Pat Toomey – proved that inflation is nothing more than a political talking point for them. Senate Republicans are robbing our government of the best people to do the work to lower prices because they think higher costs and families struggling are a political ‘gold mine’ for them. While Senate Republicans continue to throw temper tantrums and refuse to do their jobs, President Biden and Democrats won’t stop doing the work to lower costs for families.”
