DNC Spokesperson Adonna Biel released the following statement as Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee skip town after holding up several well qualified nominees to the Federal Reserve:
“This week, Senate Republicans, led by Pat Toomey, proved that inflation is little more than a cheap talking point for the Republican Party. When the chips were down and Republicans had the opportunity to vote for qualified nominees to the Federal Reserve who would get to work to tackle inflation, they threw a temper tantrum and refused to show up to do their jobs. Now, Republicans will head home and have to answer to their constituents why they are not only apparently fine with higher costs for families, but are even cheering them on.”
