Yesterday, DNC Chair Ken Martin, Vice President Kamala D. Harris, AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, and Democratic organizers and leaders from across the country held a national Get Out The Vote (GOTV) call to kick off the final organizing push of the midterm elections. During the call, the speakers highlighted the incredible organizing work happening on the ground and how Democrats across the country can join the effort to win critical races up and down the ballot.
With less than 30 days until the midterm elections, Democrats are on offense to turbocharge on-the-ground voter contact efforts — from knocking doors to making calls. From now until Election Day, Democrats are all gas, no brakes, organizing everywhere, mobilizing voters, and continuing to make critical investments that will power Democratic wins throughout America.
Find highlights of the call below:

“Right now, through the work that everyone here is doing to take on the effort to knock on doors and to engage with voters, to remind folks to check their voter registration status, to remind folks of not only the congressional races that are on the ballot but the state and local races, there’s so much power in this and there’s so much power in each of you,” said Vice President Harris. “There is a lot of good work that’s going to be happening around our beautiful country, with all of us focused on the same point: empowering people to know their vote matters and that they have the ability to do something that can change and improve the course of everything that is happening in our country.”

“Polls show us up, and our candidates are overperforming all over the country, even in deep red areas, because we’re relentlessly focused on the needs of everyday Americans,” said DNC Chair Ken Martin. “Canvassing is the most direct and effective tactic we have to talk to voters. But if you can’t knock on doors, you can still make a massive difference by joining one of our phone banks, whether from home or at a local field office. … Democrats have a real chance to flip seats blue, even in places that voted for Trump by double digits, by going on offense and putting in this work.”

“This is the work that our unions have been doing for months: People talking to people, and we’ve been running field programs across the country in all 50 states to reach union members and their families, talking about the issues that are important to all of us and connecting that to who is to blame. And our members are locked in,” said AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. “We’ve reached union members from Maine to North Carolina, from Texas to Montana and Ohio, including union members themselves who are running for office. … We’ve already knocked 700,000 doors and made 2.2 million phone calls with our labor to labor program, but this is about all of us working together. Together, we are going to close strong.”
HuffPost: Former Vice President Kamala Harris Rallies Dem Voters
[Brittany Shepherd, 10/5/26]
“With less than a month until the midterm elections, former Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday joined Democratic National Committee leaders to encourage Democrats to engage and feel hopeful that their party can flip critical majorities at the local, state and federal levels.
“‘People are hurting for a number of reasons, and here is, however, the opportunity of this moment,’ Harris said during a livestream on the DNC’s YouTube channel. ‘While it is probably the case for many of us that for the last year and a half we’ve, you know, thrown things at the television, we are in a different phase of it all right now. We are in the phase where we can do something to change the course of where this stuff has been going.’
“‘There is a lot of good work that’s going to be happening around our beautiful country, with all of us focused on the same point: empowering people to know their vote matters and that they have the ability to do something that can change and improve the course of everything that is happening in our country,’ Harris added.’
