ICYMI: Vance Claims He Has Never Seen Trump Engage in Corruption — While Trump’s Wealth Skyrockets

Half of Republicans believe the president allows his business interests to influence his decisions

Last night, when asked at a town hall in Michigan if he believes Donald Trump has engaged in corruption or allowed his businesses to influence his decision-making, “Fraud Czar” JD Vance claimed, “I’ve never seen anything like that from the president,” and said he has never seen “a shred of evidence that [Trump] participates or sanctions in corruption.”

Meanwhile, the Trump family’s net worth has nearly doubled since the 2024 election to a whopping $10 billion, and Trump himself raked in at least $2 billion since returning to the White House — more than any other year.

A majority of Americans believe Trump and his family have inappropriately profited from crypto, and half of Republicans believe the president allows his business interests to influence his decisions.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

“JD Vance is once again proving he is Donald Trump’s most loyal foot soldier, as he defends Trump’s blatant self-enrichment and turns a blind eye to the corruption permeating every corner of this administration. While working families scrape the bottom of the barrel to fill up at the pump or put food on the table, Trump and his administration have used their positions to fill their coffers and enrich their billionaire donors. Vance can try to tell the American people to deny what they are seeing, but voters know the truth, and in just over two weeks, they will send Republicans packing.”

Numerous Trump administration officials have engaged in blatant corruption — in just October alone. Just last week, former Ambassador to Greece and Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-fiance was forced out of the administration after reporting revealed she begged a major Trump donor for $100,000 to pay her credit card bill ahead of her confirmation hearing. Earlier this month, reporting also revealed that in the final hours of former Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s tenure, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approved spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on marked-up luxury planes that went to a firm led by one of Noem’s political donors.

Trump’s sons have also used their close connection to the administration to further their business ventures while the administration has funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into numerous companies linked to Trump’s children. Eric joined his father on an official state visit to Beijing while a company linked to Eric and the Trump family’s crypto business explored a deal with a Chinese firm that American lawmakers have warned poses a national security threat. Plus, at least four portfolio companies of Don Jr.’s fund 1789 Capital have won contracts amounting to more than $735 million from the Trump administration.
