With Donald Trump declaring “I love the inflation” and bragging that “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situations,” it’s no surprise that people in states throughout the country are paying more, earning less, and cutting back. As Trump and his extreme Republicans continue their assault on working families, new economic data released yesterday shows that the average household has already had to spend at least $3,100 more. That includes $310 more on groceries, $372 more on gas, $110 more on electricity, and $622 more on housing.
Trump and his administration also want Americans to take out new loans for medical bills they can’t afford after Republicans went out of their way to make healthcare even more expensive for tens of millions of people. This comes as inflation has surged to its highest rate in years while continuing to outpace wage growth, which is at a five-year low. Additionally, producer prices have once again increased, marking the largest 12-month increase in nearly four years.
