IN THE STATES: Trump’s Sweeping New Tariffs Will Only Make It Harder for Americans To Make Ends Meet

As working families struggle to afford basic necessities in Donald Trump’s failing economy, he is announcing yet another disastrous round of tariffs that will only raise prices even higher for Americans. From the beginning, Trump’s reckless trade war has spiked the cost of groceries and other products, hurting hardworking Americans. Once again, Trump and Republicans are revealing their true colors to people throughout the country: They can’t be bothered to provide much-needed relief and deliver on his promise to lower costs for working families.

A reminder: Trump’s trade war has already cost the average U.S. household more than $3,500 in additional costs for goods and services, including $695 more on housing, $310 more on groceries, $504 more on gas, and $116 more on their electricity bills.
