DNC Statement on Veterans Day
November 11, 2022
In honor of Veterans Day, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, Senator Tammy Duckworth, and DNC Veterans and Military Families Council Chair Terron Sims released the following statement:
“On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the brave Americans who have served this country in the Armed Forces both at home and abroad to protect our nation’s ideals of liberty and democracy. We also recognize the unwavering dedication of military families, spouses, partners and survivors that remind us that no one is ever fighting alone.
“The Biden-Harris administration is committed to honoring the service of Veterans and ensuring they are supported with the dignity they deserve. This year, President Biden signed into law the PACT Act, the most significant expansion of VA health care in decades, which expands hard-earned health care benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances while serving our country. Through First Lady Jill Biden’s Joining Forces initiative, the administration is also focused on supporting military families, caregivers and survivors, and ensuring they have the resources they need to thrive.
“Democrats thank every individual who has served our country with dignity and pride and we will continue our work to live up to our sacred obligation to our Veterans and their families.”
